Welcome to jack's world
"Just a thought"
Hi. My name is Wayne Parmenter, artist and spokesman for jack buttons(since jack has no lips). But fear not, jack has plenty to say. As we all know our world can be a very scary place and trying to understand it can be overwhelming at times.
May I suggest taking a much needed break and take a look at the world through jack's eyes . . . think of it as smile therapy
for the soul.
The black and white drawings open a glimpse into jack's zany, sarcastic, and often insighful world. Many of the sketches are filmed live. New animated drawing are posted weekly on youtube. Stop by! jack would love to meet you.

jack buttons is shy and doesn't what to be copied so all his drawings and his character

Wayne Parmenter is an award winning National Children's book illustrator and author. His recent work includes the creation of jack buttons. "Jack was born during the dark, cold winter months in 2019 at a time when I needed an outlet to share my thoughts; like a personal picture diary. Jack helped express feelings that I was unable to put into words. Most themes often referenced my loneliness, sadness, loss, and fear of loosing the ones closest to me. Soon, my depression faded but thankfully my new found friend remained. Jack buttons has now become a heathy outlet of expression. He now includes all of me: the whimsical, the sarcastic, and even the sadness from time to time."
Wayne grew up in the snow belt on Pennsylvania along the coast of Lake Erie. Soon after graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh he moved to Wilmington, Delaware. A few years later he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.
"What doesn't kill you, make you stronger. Thankfully, my Bipolar is no longer a burden! For some strange reason I was healed(thank you God). But I am left with memories and deep empathy for those who suffer on a daily basis. To this day, my dear father still suffers from Schizophrenia. Although his illness is successfully managed with medication there are far too many innocent people victimized by mental illness. I hope my artwork will shine a light on the this very dark issue and hopefully pass on
a much need smile.
Wayne Parmenter(58) lives in Hickory, North Carolina with his amazing wife Anna, three dynamic children, two crazy German Shepards, a little Toy Fox Terrier, and a nutty cat named noodle.
Wayne loves growing blueberries, building modern rustic furniture, and exploring the wildness of nature. I recent trip included canoeing 180 miles of the Allagash River nestled deep in the northern Maine woods with his soulmate Anna.
